The people at Zion Baptist Church are best described as an evangelical gathering of Christians who are modernistic in their vision. Exciting in their worship and have a real zeal in involving their community with their fellowship.

The Church has been modernised, both physically and spiritually and welcomes families and single people to share their vision of Church, that brings the Gospel to the people in the surrounding area in a wide variety of ways.

Sunday morning worship at 10:45am encompasses lively music through their seven strong worship team called “In 2 Deep”, some of the most potent Christian speakers in the area speak at Zion on a regular basis and there is a junior sunday club to cater for the children.

The Church, over the past year has seen some dramatic changes to its appearances. As part of the redevelopment of the church we have opened up the idea of a “One day a week Church” to one that has various activities that are at the heart of a flourishing community. We have had an extension to the rear of the building which cost around £250,000 (No lottery money was used!) and this is now known as the Eastside Community Centre.

The Church hall (pictured below) has new chairs throughout, a new heating system has been installed and a 10ft by 10ft overhead screen with a computer controlled projector has also been installed, which we use to project song words, presentations and videos through. Along with this we have installed an up to date sound and overhead lighting system.

On the first of the month there is a family service, aimed at encouraging non-christians to Church and the young people usually take a special part in the service.
