JUNIOR YOUTH CLUB Monday at 6pm to 7..3Opm we have a Junior youth Club called JC's it is aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. It is run by local parents and people from Zion alike and has excellent facilities created by dedicated staff and various grant making bodies. They organise both trips to theme parks, bowling etc. as well as providing excellent equipment for the children
SENIOR YOUTH CLUB Thursday 7pm to 8..3Opm similar to the above but catering for the older people aged between 11 and 16 (ish). As well as providing a platform for the young persons development it encourages teamwork and to respect other people. Again the emphasis on equipment is first class, as befits the next generation of adults. It is run by qualified staff in providing an alternative lifestyle
PRAYER/DISCUSSION GROUPS, held in various peoples homes The emphasis is on the work in our fellowship and in the Community that we live. We regard our Church as a living Church dealing with real issues with real people
HOME GROUPS Are friendly, relaxed meetings held at various peoples homes in the local area for those people wishing to know just a little more of the Christian Faith and it's effect it can have on their lives. It is held in a relaxed environment and you would be more than welcome to come along.
BIBLE STUDY GROUPS Are held every two weeks designed to open up the Bible and to simplify it's message of the good news about Jesus Christ. It can also he used to amplify one's knowledge of the Bible Just take it at your pace, again, all are very welcome.
SUNDAY SERVICES Are held every Sunday morning from 10..45am until 12 noon. It is a lively service for the first part with the opportunity for children to take part, whether it takes the form of singing or drama. The music Team who played at our open days are an invigorating group of young people who lead the worship. This is followed by a speaker and the children are both `entertained' and have their own workshop by our Sunday Club Team.
As a fellowship we both support `Tearfund' Overseas Aid Society as a way of alleviating suffering with children and families who have nothing and The Baptist Missionary Society as they spread the Gospel across the globe.
Throughout the year we have various activities such as `Stars in Their Eyes' where young people (and not so young) can extol their talents either by our Karaoke Systems or by their live music. Carol Services, Harvest Festivals, Connexions for young people from different backgrounds to join in worship in a very fun way
There are Pool tournaments and table tennis for the indoor active.
As we are situated a half hours drive from the Peak District National Park and the Dukeries just around the corner there is always someone organizing either a ramble in Derbyshire or a picnic in one of the local great houses we have in this Dukeries area.
Transport can be provided, though you may have to bring your own hiking boots!
In the warmer months there are always BBQ's, outside social and eating events and outside visits arranged, not only for the Fellowship but also for the children in the area. .
Every six weeks we have special Sunday evening worship evenings that see `Hill Songs' and `Delirious' songs played by our eight strong music Team.
As you can see; Our Church is a very exciting place to be…try us.
